IMI began in 1994 when God stirred IMI’s Executive Director and founder, Rev. John W. Cook’s heart as he re-visited India for the first time in many years. He had been a missionary’s kid with his family in the Philippines and Sri Lanka and in 1994 as a senior pastor in Colorado, he went back to visit some friends and ministries. His grandparents and parents had served in that region for almost 40 years and as he spent his younger years totally immersed in these cultures, his heart was soundly and beautifully woven into the fabric of the indigenous Church.
The vision continued to grow in 1997 while he and his family were living in India as missionaries and IMI was formally incorporated in 2003 with the purpose of encouraging and training nationals to effectively minister to their own peoples.
We are involved with partnering relationships in ministry in the Middle East, India, and Indonesia and continue to grow, by God’s grace.
